The Plumbing Section is located in the Emerald office of Central Highlands Regional Council. There are currently two Plumbing Inspectors employed by CHRC; Senior Plumbing Inspector Bruce Sinclair and Plumbing Inspector Peter Kay.              

The Plumbing Section is responsible for all internal plumbing and drainage up to the point of connection to Council’s infrastructure, including On-Site Sewerage Systems, Household Sewerage Treatment Plants (HSTP), Septic Tanks, Rainwater Tanks, and Backflow Prevention Devices. In this section of the website you will find information on all of these, as well as the process and requirements for submitting a Plumbing Application.

Please note all inspections must be booked 24 hours in advance and you must have your Plumbing Approval “PL” number to book an inspection.
