Sue Haviland Memorial Bursary Sue Haviland Memorial Bursary

Sue Haviland Memorial Bursary

Background

Suzanne Spencer Haviland was an enthusiastic supporter of her local community who contributed greatly to many groups. Following Sue's passing in 2005, her family established a bursary in 2006 to perpetuate her memory - a woman who gave generously of herself to her community.

"Sue came to live in the Peak Downs district in 1957 and like many men and women volunteers, she helped out at the local schools and clubs.

Over the next forty years, her love for the town and its people had Sue taking on more responsible positions within a number of clubs and organisations. Of the ten or twelve organisations she helped, the Swimming Club (in its early years), the Holy Spirit Anglican Church and the Capella Pioneer Village were three of Sue's major efforts.

Our family are proud of Sue's Bursary and very much appreciate and thank all persons involved in its administration.
